Mommy & Me Flower Crown Workshop
Bimbo Concept will host a gorgeous flower crown workshop at their newly-decorated Children’s Residency in Pacific Place Apartments over the Mother’s Day weekend. Tickets cost $550 for one adult and one child and include a 60-minute workshop and 30 minutes of additional play time where kids can discover fun themes within the whimsical playroom. The playrooms are also available for play sessions and party bookings (pictured).

The Mills 5th Anniversary Celebrations
As part of The Mills fifth anniversary celebrations, the cultural hub will host a series of artistic activities full of local character. Anniversary events will kick off this month with half-day family tours on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day so that different generations can learn about how the former cotton-spinning factories evolved into The Mills today. There will also be the opportunity to harvest fresh vegetables from the rooftop farm on The Deck and use Lee Kum Kee’s high-quality sauces to make summer snacks.

Glow with Inspiring Girls Festival
Lexemedia’s 1st-anniversary fundraiser celebrates personal growth, community, and empowerment with a variety of activities such as wellness sessions, cooking classes, and art jamming workshops. In the evening there will be a GLOW Paint Party – a vibrant dance party under the stars. Tickets cost $150, including one drink and one activity, $50 goes to charity.

Hebe Haven Yacht Club Open Day
Hebe Haven Yacht Club will host its annual HHYC Open Day in picturesque Pak Sha Wan. The event will showcase HHYC’s work as part of the celebrations for the Club’s 60ᵗʰ Anniversary later this year. The event is free-to-attend for members and non-members and will include water sports trials on dinghies, J/80s, stand-up paddle boards and kayaks, a car boot sale, cruising on Hebe One and MoHan, BBQ, fun races, a bouncy castle and face painting workshops.

MO SOUND-BITES
MO Bar is set to bring back the brand’s very own electronic music event series ‘MO SOUND-BITES’ for the first time since 2017. Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong will collaborate with music label LIQUID STATE to present a performance by Carta, a rising star in Asia’s music scene. Tickets are available on Ticketflap priced at $398 per person, with one welcome drink included.

Heathers: The musical live in concert

Loïe Fuller: Research
M+ Live Art, Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels and French May Arts Festival will co-present Loïe Fuller: Research which will reactivate for M+ the famous Serpentine Dance created by Loïe Fuller. The work will be performed by dancer and choreographer Ola Maciejewska at Lightwell Hall. The live performance Loïe Fuller: Research is free-of-charge, and no registration is required. Duration is approximately 40 minutes.

Seagulls by the Harbour
Dozens of seagulls have taken up residence at Harbour City! “Seagulls by the Harbour”, a public art installation created by the renowned Japanese artist Takahito Kimura, features 62 life-sized seagulls that perch along the coast and freely spin in unison with the sea breeze, bringing a touch of countryside beauty to the bustling cityscape.

The Italian Library will hold its first solo photography exhibition “4+1” by Francesco Gianni Zappone, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute. Developed over 11 years, the exhibition focuses on how man (the +1) interacts with four elements: air, water, fire and earth.

Puppy Day at The Upper House

Steering the Course Women’s Sailing Festival
Hebe Haven Yacht Club’s Leo Wealth Steering the Course Women’s Sailing Festival, sponsored by Leo Wealth and Beaufort Marine, aims to promote gender parity in sailing. The Global Women’s Sailing Festival is part of ‘World Sailing’.
Steering the Course aims to introduce women and girls across the globe to the sport of sailing, as well as encourage alternative pathways for those already within the sport, such as coaching or officiating. Along with HHYC’s Open Day, held earlier in May, this event provides a great opportunity to support more women on the water. such as water sports taster sessions and race management training, open to the public for online registration. Activities are either free-to-attend or priced from $100 per person.

Unfurl
With over half a decade of arts and cultural delights, Tai Kwun Contemporary celebrates its milestone as Hong Kong’s premiere arts and culture centre this month. The Parade Ground is set to be transformed into a unique garden full of light, colour, and sound by the Asian debut of Unfurl. Nature, art and technology have combined to create this visual spectacle consisting of 19 plants, nine of which are massive robots. The exhibition is free to attend.

Hope exhibition by Patricia Piccinini
This large-scale exhibition of the sculptures, paintings and moving image works by the renowned Australian artist Patricia Piccinini will be on display throughout the summer. Featuring more than 50 fascinatingly detailed and highly imaginative works across different media, including paintings and moving images in addition to her distinctive sculptural works, HOPE offers visitors an engrossing, perplexing and deeply touching view of a fantastical imaginary world, yet one with which we identify naturally and instinctively. Adult tickets cost $70 at the door and $60 if booked online. Note that the exhibition is closed on Mondays.

In Deeds and Gestures

Hot Toys x “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” Exhibition
Attention all Marvel fans! Spider-Man is swinging into town! In celebration of the latest chapter in the Spider-Man animated movie series, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Sony Pictures and Hot Toys have co-organised an exhibition featuring over 80 never-before-seen movie design sketches and character illustrations.
Harbour City will also host a range of charity workshops to celebrate Father’s Day including a DIY Spider-Man Mask Workshop, Spider-Man Face Painting, and Spider-Man Quick Sketch. All proceeds will be donated to The Salvation Army.

sky100 Green Life Marketplace
Throughout May, sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck will partner with a number of local social enterprises to host the highest eco-friendly marketplace – “Surrounding” the Skyline, Savouring the Life in Hong Kong. The event will gather six prominent local brands to showcase their select original homemade products, providing a variety of green living options, including specialty coffee, furniture made of natural materials and eco-friendly daily necessities. Visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of Victoria Harbour at an altitude of 393 metres while strolling around the marketplace.
