Renowned Asian chef and restaurateur May Chow has introduced an innovative seasonal menu at Little Bao showcasing her dedication to blending traditional Chinese cuisine with a modern twist during her ongoing 2024 Asia tour. As the recipient of the prestigious title ‘Asia’s 50 Best Female Chef‘, May has solidified her position as a dynamic culinary figure in the region, attracting a loyal global following of diners.
The new menu draws inspiration from May’s recent travels to cities like Bangkok, Singapore, and Tokyo. New dishes to note include a unique twist on the classic Pork Char Siu Bao, with Kagoshima Char Siu marinated in a secret sauce and flame-torched for a smoky flavour, “Stir Fried Beef Noodles” Fries which combine the flavours of Cantonese cuisine with crispy French fries seasoned with Kowloon Soy Sauce and Soy Salt and Poached Beef Tongue Pickled Ginger Salad, featuring beef tongue poached in White Lo Shui and served with Sichuan dressing sauce and pickled ginger salad.
A new set menu for two is priced at $536 allowing diners to select two baos, four shares, two dessert baos and two drinks from a mix of the new dishes and Little Bao all-time classics. This menu is now available at both Little Bao locations in Central and Causeway Bay.

Caprice launches ‘Refined Power Lunch’
Chef Guillaume Galliot has recently introduced a new ‘Refined Power Lunch’ menu at the prestigious three Michelin-starred Caprice, featuring dishes like White Asparagus from Loire Valley, Kristal Caviar and Razor Clam, Brittany Blue Lobster, Beetroot and Chocolate with Ruby Sauce, and the popular Banana Chocolate Mille Feuille with Cocoa Sorbet.

BEDU launches new weekday lunch menu with free flow
BEDU’s executive chef, Ali Ahmadpour, has recently unveiled a selection of fresh dishes and an updated lunch menu for weekdays, priced at $220 for a three-course meal. For an additional $68, guests can enjoy 40 minutes of free-flow beverages.
The new a la carte offerings feature enticing options such as the Roasted Chicken ($185) with chermoula chilli and Lari sauce on a bed of carrot hummus, Pan Fried King Fish ($280) marinated in garlic, ginger, turmeric, and lemon juice, and Golden Persian Prawns ($190) made from an old Iranian recipe with white onions, shallots, turmeric, black pepper, chilli powder, and tomato sauce for a flavorful and spicy experience.
BEDU’s revamped weekday lunch menu is served from 12 pm to 3 pm, including two starters, a main course, and a dessert for $220 per person. Guests can also opt for a 40-minute free-flow of wines, prosecco, and soft drinks for an additional $68 per person.

Alice Pizza opens flagship in Central
Alice Pizza, the innovative Roman pan pizza brand, is expanding its presence in Hong Kong with the opening of a new flagship store in Central. Following its successful debut in September last year, the brand opened its doors in Central on June 12. With over 6.5 million kg of pizza sold worldwide, pizza enthusiasts and locals can now enjoy the delicious rectangular pan-baked slices at this iconic Cochrane Street location. This two-storey branch marks a significant milestone in Alice Pizza’s mission to redefine the traditional pizza experience in the city and across Asia.
Alice Pizza believes in the enjoyment of pizza at any time, whether it’s with friends, during a lunch break, happy hour, or before or after a night out. The flagship shop offers a lively atmosphere where customers can indulge in delicious rectangular slices. Each piece is customised to your liking and the Central branch has introduced five new slices including Chef’s Choice with speck, porcini, ricotta, mozzarella and parsley and Potato Salsiccia with salsiccia, mozzarella and potato.

Grande Dame to celebrate Italian cuisine and culture
The Peninsula Hong Kong is hosting an event in collaboration with Mercato Gourmet to highlight the cultural ties between Italy and China through culinary customs.
This exclusive festival, a joint effort of Mercato Gourmet, the Italian Trade Agency, and the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, is an opportunity to experience the culinary customs that bridge Europe and Asia. From June 14 to July 31, guests can savour these traditions at The Peninsula Hong Kong’s prestigious dining spots, such as Felix, Sun Terrace, and The Verandah.
On June 14-15, the esteemed Chef de Cuisine Aurélie Altemaire and Sicilian Chef Riccardo La Perna from 81⁄2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana Macau will curate a six-course menu at Felix. This gastronomic journey will feature exquisite dishes like Sicilian Gambero Rosso and Slow-Cooked Italian Spring Chicken, accompanied by live performances by soprano Phoebe Tam.
On June 21, The Sun Terrace will host the Mediterranean Alfresco Night, offering a buffet with grilled meats, seafood, salads, pasta, cocktails, mocktails, live DJ music, and a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. Both menus are priced at $2,888 per person, with additional wine pairings available. Introducing Nine One by The Bombay East Indian Girl
Chef Samaira Kavatkar’s new restaurant, Nine One, opened in Tsim Sha Tsui last month. It offers a fresh perspective on Indian cuisine.
Known to many as @thebombayeastindiangirl_14, Kavatkar regularly shares her culinary creations. She is a renowned private chef and regularly hosts sold-out pop-up dinner events in Hong Kong.
With her Indian-Portuguese heritage from Mumbai, Kavatkar brings a fusion of traditional and modern recipes to Nine One. The restaurant’s menu is a culinary journey, offering a wide range of dishes from street-food-inspired delicacies to classic braises and slow-cooked meals, all aimed at redefining the perception of Indian gastronomy.

Kavatkar’s most popular dishes include The East Indian Lamb Potato Chop, Green Pea Chutney, and Kachumber, a crispy lamb and potato patty served with a side of refreshing green pea chutney. Another highlight is the East Indian Fish Kujit in Banana Leaf, where the fish is cooked in a banana leaf parcel and served with plain Uttapam. Additionally, Nine One offers larger sharing dishes like Roasted Three Yellow Chicken with Bottle Masala and Pan-fried Stuffed Whole ‘Hirva’ Pomfret for larger groups to enjoy.

The Aubrey After Dark at Mandarin Oriental
“The Aubrey After Dark” is a thrilling new series of late-night sessions that pay tribute to Hong Kong’s iconic nightlife scene, which emerged alongside the opening of The Mandarin in 1963.
Starting from May 24, these sessions will take place every Friday from 10pm until late at The Aubrey, formerly known as the Harbour Restaurant, a renowned venue that has hosted legendary international performers like Eartha Kitt, Dave Allen, Les Dawson, Barry Humphries, Bob Monkhouse, and Max Bygraves.
Guests can expect an exciting line-up of international underground DJs from London, New York, and Paris who will spin a fusion of Classic Disco, Chicago House, and the latest music genres like Amapiano, Afro, and Latin vibes.
The highly anticipated launch on May 24 will feature performances by Hank Korsan from Los Angeles, Cosmo Webber, The Aubrey’s first curator-in-residence from London’s contemporary party circuit, and Hong Kong’s DJ legend Andrew Bull, also known as DJ El Toro.

SOMM celebrates five years
To commemorate its fifth anniversary, SOMM at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, is offering special degustation menus curated by Chef Richard Ekkebus. The menus feature a collection of signature dishes from the past and present, prepared by both current and former members of SOMM’s culinary team. Highlights include the Sea Lettuce Taco with Iceberg Lettuce, Shiso, XO Mayonnaise, Raw Ama Ebi & Caviar Lime by Chef Terry Ho, the Aka Uni “French Toast” by Chef Mario Paecke, and the Raw Scallop with Yellow Yuzu, Green Shiso, and Charred Kyuri Cucumber by Chef Stanley Poon. Guests can also choose from other options such as the Boston Lobster with Angel Hair Pasta Salad or the Japanese Pork Belly skewer. New on the menu are the Roasted Lamb Leg with Ratatouille and the Confit Amberjack with Chargrilled Baby Gem Lettuce.

Chef Kishan Singh takes over The Lounge
Renowned Head Chef Kishan Singh from Baraabaru at the Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa will take over the kitchen at Four Season Hong Kong’s The Lounge from June 17–22. Celebrating One Year: Bar Leone’s Anniversary Takeover
Bar Leone will mark its first anniversary in June with a month-long celebration showcasing some of the finest bars from around the globe. Simone Caporale, award-winning bartender and co-founder of Sips in Barcelona (#1 World’s 50 Best Bars 2023), will lead the celebration with an exclusive takeover on May 26. Tjoget and Hedda Bruce from Stockholm’s Tjoget (#40 World Best Bars 2023) will take over on June 2, offering classic cocktails with unique flavours, Satan’s Whiskers from London (#28 in the World’s 50 Best Bars), will be featured on June 9 with Bar Manager Keila Urzaiz de Calignon. MICHELIN-starred New Punjab Club introduces new a la carte menu
New Punjab Club, the World’s first MICHELIN-starred Punjabi restaurant, is introducing a fresh a la carte menu this month that further explores the rich culture of Punjab.
New Punjab Club has become a firm favourite with Hong Kong diners over the past six years with a kitchen centred around tandoor ovens and flame-cooked proteins that steal the show.
Chefs Palash Mitra, Chhabil Sidhu, and Tara Mehta display their culinary expertise through dishes like the Bade Ka Boti Kebab, a 12oz Black Angus Ribeye steak marinated in cold-pressed mustard oil and black peppercorns, cooked rare in the tandoor, and served with house-made kabocha chutney. The new menu also features Malai Tikka, showcasing three local yellow chicken marinated in soft cheese, yoghurt, and fenugreek, served with smoked corn raita and rum-infused chicken liver chutney.
Vegetarian options include the Baingan Bharta, a combination of two types of eggplants, with one smoked and blended with onion, tomato, garlic, and coriander and the other stuffed with soft cheese and grilled in the tandoor. Meanwhile, the beloved Samosa Chaat has returned, featuring smashed samosas served with yoghurt, mint and tamarind chutneys and topped with crispy chickpea vermicelli and pomegranate seeds.

Amber x Mory Sacko Four Hands Dinner
Renowned for pushing culinary boundaries and fostering innovative collaborations, Chef Richard Ekkebus is inviting Chef Mory Sacko, a rising star in the culinary scene in France, to co-create a unique dining experience at the Michelin-starred MoSuke in Paris.
Set to take place from 5 to 7 June at Amber, this dynamic duo will push the limits of gastronomy by utilising premium, seasonal, and ethically sourced ingredients to showcase their exceptional creativity and distinct personalities.
Chef Richard continues to redefine modern French cuisine, while Chef Mory brings his own unique twist by combining African, Japanese, and French influences in his dishes. Together with Terry Ho and Carles Codina, they have created an impressive 12-course degustation menu. Chef Mory draws inspiration from his love for Japan, showcasing signature dishes at MoSuke such as Pepe Soup, Red Mullet, Mackerel, Sea Bream, Okra, and Roasted Garlic.
