Applications open for The Hari Art Prize 2023
Applications for the much-anticipated The Hari Art Prize campaign are now open. Art has long been in the DNA of The Hari brand and is one of the core pillars of The Hari Hong Kong where a rotational showcase of exceptional artworks are curated by London-based A Space for Art.
The Hari Art Prize will be open to all emerging self-taught artists and recent art graduates in the last three years, and submissions will open for three months from February 1 until April 30. Artworks can be in any genre or medium but must be located in Hong Kong. A shortlist of artists will be selected by an elite panel of judges including Dr. Aron Harilela, CEO and Chairman of Harilela Hotels, Matt Chung, Haus of Contemporary co-founder, Heiman Ng, Director of Artistsverse, Head of Business Development for Digital Art Fair, and HKU professor in Global Creative Industries, Lynus Woo, Artist, collector, and founder of REP, and Melissa Digby-Bell, Head of Curatorial for A Space For Art.
The Hari encourages all art students, art graduates, art organisations and art schools to apply for an incredible opportunity which brings with it exposure and recognition. The overall winner will be awarded a cash grant of $100,000 donated by Dr. Aron Harilela and the opportunity to exhibit his/her artworks at The Hari Hong Kong and The Hari London. The two runners up will also have their artwork exhibited in The Hari Hong Kong and will be offered the opportunity of becoming an “Artist in Residence”. Finally, all shortlisted artists will have their artwork showcased in an online exhibition on the The Hari Hong Kong’s campaign dedicated webpage. The results of the Art Prize will be announced in an award ceremony at The Hari Hong Kong this coming September. Those interested in applying can register here.
