Step into this new modern yet industrial coffee shop and be rewarded with a speciality coffee and delicious sweet treat. A unique spin on the caffeine-based venue? It doubles as a salon to offer cuts and cups. Still in its soft opening, Duet Cups is trialling desserts like a matcha Basque burnt cheesecake, whisky ice cream croffle and a pistachio cherry tart.

Hangout Coffee
Hangout Coffee is a small yet welcoming coffee shop that brews coffees and bakes scones and bagels in-house. Choose between favourites of cold brew, pour-over, espresso tonic or one of its speciality tea lattes. As they are homemade, the delectable treats are limited in quantity and range in flavours. You might find daily bakes from blueberry or Earl Grey scones or an original bagel that comes with lemon-infused cream cheese. More substantial dishes include its cauliflower rice with slow-cooked chicken and a pan-fried shrimp salad.

Buff Café
Sham Shui Po has become a magnet for boutique coffee shops and Thai-inspired Buff Café is one to be sure to visit. Try its flavourful and unique savoury dishes of shrimp cheese toast served with prawn crackers or northern Thai-style boat noodles. The choice between its zesty lemon tart or creamy red velvet cake will have you coming back for another visit. Wash any of its dishes down with a Thai iced tea, hojicha latte or a bubbly espresso tonic.

Lol Cafe Bar
The new café opening in Sheung Wan has large windows and stool seats to perch and people watch as you have a morning coffee. It offers espresso-based coffees as well as cold brews for when it’s just too hot outside. Check its Instagram page to see its daily dessert which have included a carrot cake, Oreo s’more cookie or burnt cheesecake from Instagram bakery @hygge_botd.

Peloton is a new cycling and camping store that offers a craft coffee experience alongside, meaning you can get your favourite buzz before browsing its specialised equipment. Refreshing treats come in the form of its signature espresso sunrise or fresh fruit yoghurt bowl. Larger dishes to fill up on include its homemade Angus burger with caramelised onion and brie cheese, French blue mussels and a freshly baked apple crumble with ice cream.

Ppalli Ppalli
Step foot into this ultra-modern café and be transported into a sci-fi movie with its chrome interiors and neon lighting. Its coffee menu is paired with Korean cuisine. Options include a kimchi pancake, gimbap, Korean fried chicken and yam chips with kimchi mayo. Unique drinks are also available with a baesuk soda, almond burdock tea and chocolate beverages.

Taking inspiration from an old hardware store, this cafe transports you to a world of vintage style through its decor and atmosphere. Drink its rose lychee cold brew tea out of traditional Chinese style teacups whilst eating its rendition of a local favourite: French toast, but served with coconut ice cream.

Lazzy Project
You can take all the time you need at this cafe as it invites you to be indolent with them. Offering a range of siphon coffees, drift away as you watch its baristas create your perfect brew. Make sure to order a scone or its homemade banana bread to pair with your drink of choice.

Hikari Coffee
Hikari is a relaxing new cafe that has opened in Tsuen Wan finished with rattan furniture, pale interiors and natural light flooding in from its wide windows. Its menu has brunch staples like open-face sandwiches and tiramisu for sweet tooths. More substantial plates include risotto and pasta dishes.

Pedestrian Coffee
This primarily takeaway concept is perfect for when you’re on the go in the hustle and bustle of Causeway Bay. Perfecting the classics from flat whites to a cappuccino to its small list of specials like a charcoal latte to its Pedestrian’s choco. If you’re feeling adventurous, order its hidden menu beverage that comes either hot or cold.

Don’t be fooled by these white exteriors before you step foot into a vivid Japanese style cafe. To accompany its range of coffees and teas are vegan tarts with fillings from chocolate and caramel to black sesame with blackberry. Try its signature drink, a yuzu coffee tonic, for a refreshing buzz.

Beyond Coffee and Bar has opened with a menu of brunch classics of eggs benedict and avocado on toast. A must-order is its aesthetically pleasing drink, a mandarin coffee, which is served in a cocktail glass to easily show you its contrasting layers.

This neon orange café might just be the most eye-catching shopfront in Hong Kong. As a takeaway only venue, pick up its nutty iced latte or flat white and make sure to ask for its themed loyalty card for next time.

With its cups of coffee hoping to gift a touch of poshness to its guests, this brewery wants to be more then just a shop and more like a coffee club. Uchi
Beloved Tai Wanese cafe, Uchi, has opened its newest venue in Tseung Kwan O with its iconic white facade and calming interiors. Its menu comprimises of larger Japanese style meals with various meats or sushi, waffles topped with ice cream and daily changing cakes.

Cosha
Blending together coffee and shisha is a new hang out spot, Cosha, in Central. The neutral style of the café creates a welcoming and elegant atmosphere to relax in. Its menu consists of brunch classics like avocado on toast, fruit platters and stacked croffles.

Knockbox
Knockbox Coffee Company is opening its newest location in Wan Chai, brewing up its range of carefully selected coffee beans. Its coloured shop window takes inspiration from a coffee flavour wheel and is fitted with a 360-degree coffee bar so its guests can watch baristas do what they do best.

The Salfee Bar
If you fancy a healthy salad along with your favourite coffee, head to The Salfee Bar which offers a range of nutritious salad boxes and smoothies. One of its best sellers is the immune boost filled with kimchi, tofu, beef and cauliflower rice.

Fendi Caffe

With circular cavities built into its walls, relax in this minimalistic and clean new coffee shop in Causeway Bay. Mong Kok has a new pet-friendly café with natural grooves cut into its walls for a mountain like design. Coffees include its hand drip, house blend dirty, iced latte and an apple americano. Loop Kulture
After its short introductory period, Loop Kulture has quickly become a go to for its caramelised banana pain peru. Served with edible flowers, fruits and ice-cream, this dish is a delicious piece of art. Its signature coffee comes with a handmade coconut ice ball and is limited to only 30 servings a day. Avocado toast, rainbow yoghurt bowls and poached eggs are other brunch classics that are available.

Aftereightys Cafe
Putting its focus on desserts, food and coffee, aftereightys has a creative range of waffles to try this month. Roasted by Zero to One coffee, Cruising Coffees’ cherries house blend is a medium to light roast with floral tasting notes. Beyond Cakes
This pop-up store has resurfaced in Wan Chai bringing its sought after cakes back to the café scene. Popular on Instagram are the yuzu tofu cheesecake and lemon tart. Be sure to check its Instagram page for its next opening days.

Bow Coffee
“Live and breathe” is the concept behind this new café, creating a comforting and relaxing shelter from everyday life. Its signature bow coffee uses local ivy honey from rawhoneyhk. Served in three layers, it suggests to sip the frothy foam before mixing the local honey and coffee together for a delectable treat. Another signature will get you ready for summer as it mixes refreshing grapefruit juice with soda and a shot of espresso.

Revamping from its past tea shop history, plan b is a new fusion café. Dishes include a mapo tofu risotto, tailored omelettes and waffles. This South African inspired café and deli shop is a collaboration between Biltong Chief and Blend & Grind. Based around a traditional biltong bar, it brings authentic South African culture to Hong Kong. Selling a range of farm-style delicacies to craft beer and speciality coffees, each product has been sourced from a small group of suppliers to create a unique and authentic experience.

Fonji Café
This retro Japanese styled café takes inspiration from maple trees with its name even translating to maple in Cantonese. The dusky colour scheme and warm toned maple trees make it an alluring hideaway to wind down in. Try its dark roast blend, maple cafe latte or matcha latte. Its also bakes fresh desserts such as a cannelé, pandan kaya coconut cake and hojicha chiffon cake.

Walking into this coffee shop might feel like you’ve stepped foot into a contemporary museum with its range of art and decor. It takes inspiration from its location in the textile district and its previous history as a sewing machine shop. A range of pour-over coffees from around the world are available with different under notes and flavours. A Hong Kong style milk tea roll, avocado toast and Two Moon Gin are some of the other options on its menu.

A new pet-friendly café and bakery has opened in seaside town, Sai Kung. With drinks from CBD lattes, 12 hour cold brew smoky tea and yuzu ooloong tea, it gives guests creative options to choose between. This boho style, handicraft studio and café focuses on good food and coffee has reopened in Prince Edward. It has special teas and drinks and also makes homemade desserts as weekly specials. Named after the act following the strong aroma of freshly roasted coffee, this new coffee shop has a range of locally roasted single origin beans. Built into a salon, this urban coffee roaster means you can get your hair and nails done with a great drink. The concept store is fitted with industrial materials and fixtures to create a modern ambience. Its drinks menu includes creative specials like an espresso ginger ale, turmeric chai latte, kurozato latte and mint coffee. Make sure to try its handmade pasta, tiramisu and homemade biscotti.

This café focuses on high quality and homemade products to give its diners the best experience possible, with home-roasted coffee beans to baked goods. It’s jumbo all day breakfast is an impressive array of delicious ingredients that makes for a picture perfect Instagram brunch. If you’re not up for a huge meal, pair its coffee with a fresh fruit napoleon cake or croissants that come available with a range of fillings.

This new café in Sham Shui Po focuses on the theme of photography. Sham Shui Po is full of shops selling cameras and equipment in the area so it’s perfect for anything photography-themed. You can also spot a large film camera standing by the entrance. We heard that the barista used to be a photographer himself, but now he’s whipping up creme brulee cappuccinos.

Alive Eatery

Alive Food finally opened a new Alive Eatery and fans are lining up already. The new café features its signature sourdough toasts and draft kombucha that is available on tap. A new dish on the menu that caféhoppers are loving is the bread pudding. Bread is soaked in milk overnight, dusted in sugar before torching it caramelise into a creme brulee coating.

Tai Hang is also boasting a new café this month, with its grand opening scheduled for the 20th. The name ‘Heyday’ is the owners way of welcoming a new day with positivity. This minimalistic café features soft white tones and green plants, blending into the cosy neighbourhood with its aesthetics. It is also a pet-friendly space so be ready to spot dogs of all sorts.

Grotto is the name of a cave of a structure that resembles an artificial cave, so that is the perfect name for this new café in Quarry Bay. The space looks like it is carved right out of the stone wall. Its signature S(t)ones (scones) are carry this stone motif but it promises to be anything but rock hard.

This new café is built for people to laze around all day, but there’s actually a one-hour time limit for each party. Thankfully they aren’t strict with the times. You can choose between indoor and outdoor seating, with plenty of wooden furniture and plush sofas lying around. It is a huge space filled with plants and some of the furniture is actually for sale too.

In association with the famed CoHee Studio in Yuen Long, For Single is a new café in Kennedy Town perfect for fans on the island side. Afterten Cafe

At Afterten Cafe, all the furniture is made from wood. That means wooden tables, chairs, lamps and even wooden rubbish bins with the logo carved on it. It is a very clean aesthetic that reminds us of Korean cafés you can find around Hongdae, the artsy district in Seoul. Which means if you want to pretend you’re travelling, Afterten could be a good illusion.

Cotton Lane
Another aesthetic café makes its way into Happy Valley. Cotton Lane serves fusion French-Japanese cuisine and pretty desserts. The interiors focus mainly on white and gold palettes, with gilded door frames and cutlery. Also, it is a great dog-spotting area since Happy Valley is teeming with dogs.
