This summer holiday, the YWCA International Kids Club has organised its programmes with your convenience in mind. Whether it is day camps, weeklong camps or short workshops, it is offering flexible class schedules to suit your little ones’ personal timetable. Below, we’ve rounded up a few highlights the club has in store for your kids this summer.
Kinder Sports
As one of the club’s most popular programmes, over 600 kids join Kinder Kicks (soccer), Kinder Bounce (basketball) and Kinder Games (multi-sports) each week. Students can enjoy themselves while learning the basics of soccer, basketball and multi-sport, taught by professional coaches.
Gymnastics
Children will learn various gymnastics positions such as running, jumping, balancing and turns. The routines are designed specifically to increase their coordination, flexibility, agility and control.
Kids Can Cook
Kids really can cook at the YWCA. This cooking class will introduce children to new foods and flavours, helping them expand their tastes while enhancing their broader skills including measuring, counting and sharing.
Become a Little Scientist
Let your kids explore the amazing world of science at YWCA’s Little Scientist classes. From experiments to hypotheses, this hands-on class is great for enquiring minds.
Reading Tree
Through an array of fun activities, students will use the Oxford Reading Tree series to explore reading, comprehension, oral compositions and penmanship. Kids who have been read to have a “brain-bank account” of about 5,000 books by the time they enter school – and this course is the perfect place to start.
Phonics Fun
This class offers an investigation of the alphabet and the greater exploration of words as students build on their expanding vocabularies through fun games and activities. Classes are interactive and include games, floor work and visual prompts to ensure that everyone’s needs are met in a fun way.
Wing Tsun Martial Art / Lion Dance & Kung Fu
If you want to experience traditional Chinese culture then you don’t want to miss this course. It’s a great chance for children to have an amazing experience in learning Kung Fu this summer.
At YWCA, health and safety is a main concern, so precautionary measures will be applied for every student and teacher in every lesson. These include temperature checking, hands sanitising before and after class, mask wearing, small group activities and equipment cleaning between lessons.
