Keep the kids entertained over the holidays with these fun and festive classes for tots to teens

At these fun winter camps, kids can play sports, learn new skills and perform festive-themed dance and music! Most importantly, they’ll keep entertained and have fun during the holidays! From multi-activity camps at YWCA to outdoor adventures with The Backyard Gang, these are 10 of the best winter camps for the 2023 winter break.

YWCA Centre of Learning and Life Enhancement

This year, Y.W.C.A. International Kids Club will offer all-round festive courses. Learning is encouraged through games, storytelling and hands-on crafting. The flexible multicultural courses include Christmas-themed artwork and cooking classes such as Christmas-themed coding workshops, Christmas baking, festive Mandarin camps and even Christmas dinosaur making! Children can perform Christmas songs and dance together at HoneyBees and MiniBees camps. There are also sports, S.T.E.A.M., personal development and academic courses.

COBO Academy

Cobo Academy hosts workshops and classes about coding and robotics. From December 19 until January 6, COBO Academy is hosting a variety of week-long winter camps designed to hone your child’s logical thinking and problem solving skills while having lots of fun. As official Global Training Partners of Microsoft and Minecraft, programs are fast evolving to stay ahead of the hottest tech trends. From AI, NFT, Mobile App Development, Game Development, Web Design, Robotics, Virtual Reality to Python, there is something that excites every young enthusiast. ESF Winter Camps

ESF Winter Wonderland

ESF Sports & Language has some exciting and magical activities to get children into the festive spirit with a range of week-long day camps and one-off workshops, taught by a team of experienced and qualified educators. Students will be immersed in an environment where they will build confidence in communicating in English through different sports, arts, STEM or language activities. With over 40 programmes including playgroups, language, sports, arts and STEM to choose from across 17 locations, there’s something for everyone at ESF. Preface’s Christmas Coding Bootcamp

Learning to code is the first step to equip kids on a tech-enabled journey and pave the way for their futures. Ed-tech company Preface is offering a three day Christmas boot camp for kids aged 4 to 18 years old. The Christmas programming training camp utilises STEAM teaching strategies to stimulate children’s imagination and creativity with programming and includes the latest and most popular skills and topics within the technology industry such as NFTs, and the use of programming to create games, develop different programs, while also empowering students to be creative and keep up with the latest trends in the technology industry.

Activekids

Activekids will keep your children entertained with a range of activity camps at over 60 schools across Hong Kong, as well as at their activity centre in Kennedy Town. This year, children aged can take part in camps ranging from hands-on science, creative cooking, arts and crafts and fashion design.

Babel Film Workshop

Babel Film Workshop

Have a budding filmmaker at home? The Babel Film Workshop Winter Camp runs from December 19 until January 6 and features a range of holiday-themed filmmaking experiences. Students aged 8-15 will learn to create their own holiday-themed film using voice acting and sound effects for animation. The camp includes special effects classes, editing a holiday movie trailer, Vlogging and remaking a holiday movie scene. Family members can also participate and make a movie projector out of recycled gift boxes and wrapping paper.

Camp Asia

Camp Asia will hold winter camps for children aged from four years up. Camp options include Little Innovators for those with an interest in science and technology, basketball, coding, art and designing and creative communications. Camps are age-appropriate and managed by experienced, trained teachers, teaching assistants and subject specialists.

The Backyard Gang

The Backyard Gang offers a year-round programme of exciting adventures which children are encouraged to get outside and explore nature. Their holiday adventures provide a chance for existing and new gang members to get out and be active during the holidays. Running for two to five days and in different locations, every day is planned to include loads of activities, games and socialising with new friends. Camps incorporate activities based on the four elements – earth, wind, water and fire and are constantly engaging and exciting. You can expect tired, yet smiling kids at the end of each day.

Minisport

Holiday camps have been extremely popular amongst the Minisport community since 2012. These week-long camps run during the school holidays, both in the morning and afternoon, and sessions generally last 90-120 minutes. Venues span across 10 sites in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories. Throughout these camp weeks, children are exposed to a new sport each day with classes including basketball, rugby, football, tennis and athletics. On Friday, children will enjoy a party and team-building games. This year, Minisport winter camps will run from December 19-23 and December 28-31.

Faust International Youth Theatre

Faust’s Winter Holiday Programmes

Since 1999, Faust International Youth Theatre has been bringing the wonderful world of theatre and performing arts to the young people of Hong Kong. Over the Christmas period, Faust will be running week-long winter camps with programmes such as holiday theatre workshops, creative writing, musical theatre and play-in-a-day. Programmes run at three locations across Hong Kong; Sheung Wan, Ho Man Tin and Taikoo Shing.
