The best winter camps for kids 2024

From drama and musical theatre to sports and science, Hong Kong’s best winter camps offer children of all ages a chance to learn, grow, and have fun during the holidays

This winter, give your child the gift of creativity, learning, and adventure with a wide variety of holiday camps across Hong Kong. Faust

This winter, Faust is offering a diverse range of creative holiday programmes for children aged 3 to 16, designed to foster creativity and build confidence through drama, writing, and musical theatre. These programmes are perfect for both beginners and more experienced participants, providing an engaging and enjoyable experience over the holiday season. Week 1 of the programmes runs from December 16 to 20, and Week 2 from December 30 to January 3. In addition, a special Play in a Day workshop will take place on December 23, offering a fun and fast-paced theatre experience for young performers.

The courses cater to different age groups and are available in a variety of locations across Hong Kong, including Sheung Wan, the French International School in Tseung Kwan O, and the DSC School in Taikoo Shing. Programmes include Holiday Theatre (ages 3-16), Creative Writing (ages 6-13), and Musical Theatre (ages 8-12). Pricing for the programmes starts at $2,380 for a 4-day course (ages 3-4) and $2,780 for a 4-day course (ages 4 and above). For a 5-day programme, prices are $2,980 (ages 3-4) and $3,380 (ages 4 and above), with the Play in a Day workshop priced at $880.

While the programmes at DSC are not eligible for discounts, Faust is offering several savings opportunities: a 10% discount on all programmes if you register by November 24, and a 15% Friends Together Offer when you register three or more children together (note: this offer is not applicable to Play in a Day). The Playhouse

The Playhouse is a recently-opened space in Cyberport that uses play-based learning and the Arts to help children develop essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Their programs are designed around Competency-Based Learning (CBL) principles, offering students the time and space to explore, think, connect, and create at their own pace. This winter, The Playhouse is running a series of exciting holiday camps, including Christmas Camp: Art Making x Etiquette x Musical Theatre and Camp: SpeechPlay x Art Attack. Minisport

Holiday camps have been a favourite among the Minisport community since 2012. These fun-filled, week-long camps take place during school holidays, offering both morning and afternoon sessions, each lasting 90 to 120 minutes. With venues across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories, children have easy access to a range of exciting activities. Camp Asia

Camp Asia offers a diverse range of winter camps for children aged 4-14 years. Led by the experienced faculty from Stamford American School, children will engage in a range of interactive activities, explore passions, and try new things!  For younger campers (ages 4-7), there are exciting Multi-Activity camps in the morning or afternoon, as well as STEM-focused programs like STEM Explorers in the AM and the full-day STEM Winter Wonderland Discovery for a deep dive into science and exploration. Older children (ages 8-10) can take part in more specialised camps like STEM Winter Wonderland Creator (full-day), Science & Tech Explorers (AM), Multi-Sports (PM), and Coding (AM).
