From Sea to Skin: The Peninsula Spa introduces VOYA “Moon and Tides” Treatments
The Peninsula Spa has launched new wellness treatments in collaboration with family-owned skincare Irish brand VOYA and in line with the hotel’s focus on prioritising sustainability.
The Therapeutic Power of Wild Seaweed
VOYA, which partnered with The Peninsula Hong Kong in 2021, set the bar as the world’s first certified organic seaweed-based skincare brand when it was founded in 2006.
The core ingredient of all VOYA products is extract of wild seaweed, which is sustainably harvested from the pristine waters off the West Coast of Ireland. In this area, seaweed bathing is a 300-year-old tradition. The VOYA product range is sustainable, organic and has amassed a cult following globally.
Two new treatments have been launched at The Peninsula Spa; these are The Awakening Moon and The Nourishing Moon, inspired by the moon’s cycles.
The Awakening Moon
The awakening moon indicates a time for renewal and discovery, and this 90-minute treatment prepares skin, body, and spirit for new beginnings. The ritual begins with a full-body brush to stimulate the lymphatic system; then, the skin is nourished with lime- and mandarin-scented oil. A full-body lymphatic massage follows, including therapeutic scalp massage and restorative hot and cold stone treatments. The treatment concludes with a detoxifying fennel tea to aid clarity.
The Nourishing Moon
The nourishing moon is the ideal time to focus energy and creativity, and this 90-minute treatment has been designed to encourage that process. The ritual uses a combination of sound therapy, a herbal full-body scrub, and enveloping and comforting body wraps followed by targeted massage to promote relaxation. This powerful experience allows the body and mind to feel fully cocooned, helping to dissolve physical and emotional blockages and facilitate deep inner healing.
