The American Club

The member-owned American Club Hong Kong, established in 1925, offers a small taste of home to Americans (apparently the burgers are particularly good).

The club hosts two clubhouses in Central and Tai Tam provide contrasting views of Hong Kong. It also has reciprocal agreements with over 80 others across the globe. Additionally, it has a private box at the Happy Valley Racecourse. The Town Club finished its neo-classical refurbishment in 2015.

Facilities: The Country Club is set on 3.5 acres in Tai Tam. It has four restaurants, six tennis courts, three squash courts, indoor and outdoor multi-purpose courts, rock-climbing wall, swimming pool and baby pool, three-storey playzone and teen hangout, cliff top spa and a ballroom
Membership: For more information, please contact the Membership Department at membership@americanclubhk.com
Did you know: Billy’s Bar, currently located at the entrance to McKay’s steakhouse at the Town Club, was built in 1880 and was originally housed in New York’s oldest family-owned restaurant, Billy’s Restaurant, which was located on the corner of 56th Street and First Avenue. Notably, Marilyn Monroe purportedly danced on this bar.
