TeamLab’s Future Park is coming to Hong Kong this July
Established in 2001, teamLab is an international art collective which seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, and the natural world.
Through art, the interdisciplinary group of specialists, including artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects, aims to explore the relationship between the self and the world and new forms of perception.
teamLab exhibitions have been held in cities worldwide, including New York, London, Paris, Singapore, Silicon Valley, Beijing, and Melbourne. In collaboration with FWD Group, teamLab is set to bring its immersive art concept to Hong Kong from July 9, 2023, until January 14, 2024.
MegaBox in Kowloon Bay will be transformed into a 10,000-square-foot dreamlike realm of interactive fun at the crossroads of technology and art.
Six of Future Park’s famous works will be on display, including ‘Graffiti Nature – Beating Mountains and Valleys, Red List’, a three-dimensional terrain that shifts and undulates as visual and physical cognition become separated and ‘Light Ball Orchestra’ in which visitors can create an orchestra by rolling different light ball which changes in colour and sound.
Children will love ‘Sliding through the Fruit Field’ – a slide where various kinds of fruit grow on the slope, and balls bounce around. Visitors become the sunlight and slide down the hill, when they collide with the balls, sunlight energy will be transferred to them, and they will go flying off in all directions.
‘A Table where Little People Live’ is also hugely popular with families. The little people run around the table, oblivious to us. However, when visitors put something, such as their hand, on the table, the little people will notice and jump onto it.
Early-bird tickets are now available on the FWD MAX Platform and Trip.com, priced from $198 for adults and $148 for children (aged 3-11). Under 2’s go free.
