Hong Kong has plenty of holidays to play with in 2024 – grab your diary and start planning.

Hong Kong has 17 public holidays in 2024, here’s how to maximise your time off this year.

New Year’s Day – Monday January 1. 

Chinese New Year – Saturday February 10, Monday February 12, Tuesday February 13.

Top tip – take February 14, 15 and 16 off and get a nine-day holiday.

Good Friday – Friday March 29.

Holy Saturday – Saturday March 30.

Easter Monday – Monday April 1.

Top tip – take April 2, 3 and 5 off and enjoy a ten-day holiday.

Ching Ming Festival – Thursday April 4.

Labour Day – Wednesday May 1.

Buddha’s Birthday – Wednesday May 15.

Tuen Ng Festival – Monday June 10.

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day – Monday July 1.

The day following the Mid-Autumn Festival – Wednesday September 18.

National Day – Tuesday October 1.

Chung Yeung Festival – Friday October 11.

Christmas Day – Wednesday December 25.

Boxing Day – Thursday December 26.

Top tip – take December 23, 24 and 27 as holiday-leave and have a nine-day break.
