Calling all gin aficionados! The highly anticipated outdoor gin festival, Ginsanity, is back in Central Hong Kong from June 7-8. The best part? It’s absolutely free to join!Next month, PMQs iconic courtyard will once more be the venue for Hong Kong’s largest gin and tonic festival in celebration of World Gin Day on June 8! Attendees can explore, sample, and purchase more than 50 distinct gin options from over 40 countries, with the bonus of free admission.
Ginsanity will take place over two days and showcase a diverse range of gins, including over 100 styles from 50 distilleries worldwide. Building on the success of Ginsanity 2023, which attracted 3,500 participants and served 9,500 G&Ts, this year’s event promises to be even more impressive.
Visitors have the option to purchase an environmentally friendly Ginsanity Cup for $30, which provides access to gins and beverages from around the globe, including Scotland’s Lind & Lime, South Africa’s Kaiza 5, Germany’s Boar Gin, and Macau’s Owlman.
Two Moons, Hong Kong’s first gin distillery, founded in 2019, will feature its top-notch gins made with premium botanicals sourced worldwide. Additionally, N.I.P., a Hong Kong-based brand, will present its craft gin, which embodies the city’s heritage and unique attitude.
This year’s Ginsanity introduces distillers from beyond the city for the first time. Rambler (Yunnan) Julu Gin (Shanghai), Oriental Distilling (Zhuhai) represent the expanding Mainland China gin industry. Owlman from Macau and Square One from Australia add to the diverse lineup.
Mezzanine Makers’ unique tonics have been selected to complement this year’s gin offerings. Their tonics offer a contemporary take on a traditional mixer, such as the quinine-free Herbal Tonic Water infused with locally sourced perfume lemons, Chinese herbs, and Western spices. Along with crafting premium soda, Mezzanine Makers is committed to backing local ingredient providers.
