Lorenzo Antinori to open Bar Leone in Central
One of Hong Kong’s most popular figures in hospitality, Lorenzo Antinori will open a new neighbourhood spot for classic cocktails and Italian charm with his first independent venture, Bar Leone.
Previously at the helm of legendary bars across Europe and Asia, most recently Four Season Hong Kong’s Argo which came third on the prestigious list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2022 and 28th on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2022, Lorenzo’s Bar Leone will be heavily influenced by Trastevere, one of Rome’s most historic neighbourhoods, where Lorenzo was raised.
On the cocktail menu, Lorenzo is proudly keeping it simple with classics such as the Bellini and his own take on the Martini, the Leone Martini which intriguingly includes orange blossom.
Food promises a nostalgic play on piattini and spuntini, small dishes and snacks shared amongst friends and in the spirit of traditional Italian coffee counters, guests can walk in for a quick espresso or an amaro and a chat at the bar.
Bar Leone will be set to an eclectic soundtrack that celebrates Italian pop culture which will also be captured in the encompassing art, fashion, music and style – from vintage football shirts to photos of Italian icons.
Bar Leone is scheduled open towards the end of June, for the latest, follow @barleonehk on Instagram.
