Prepare for a sushi experience like no other. Michelin-starred Udatsu Sushi from Tokyo has chosen Hong Kong as its first location outside Japan. Opening later this month, Udatsu Sushi will offer tequila and world-class sushi, accompanied by the soothing sounds of jazz.
The 12-seat counter at Udatsu Sushi, made from 150-year-old Yoshino cypress, promises a setting where guests can enjoy a blend of art and sushi in an upscale gallery-like atmosphere. Renowned chef Hisashi Udatsu promises a mix of art and sushi through his world-class technique, honed over years of working for masters and running his eponymous restaurant.
Along with showcasing art from various artists, the restaurant collaborates with art consultancy WangSim to offer these artworks for sale. The soothing jazz music creates a relaxed environment for diners to interact comfortably with the chef and each other.
Udatsu Sushi is set to open on August 8.

Limewood celebrates ten years with refreshed interiors and menu
Popular beachfront restaurant Limewood, which fuses influences from the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, Hawaii, and South America, celebrates its 10th anniversary with refreshed interiors and an enhanced menu.
Famed for its exquisite barbecue and abundant margaritas on the shores of Repulse Bay, Limewood has revamped its decor to reflect the vibrant atmospheres of Ibiza, Bali, and Mykonos, featuring warm terracotta hues and rattan accents.
Under the direction of Maximal Concepts Group Executive Chef Sebastian Comerso, an updated menu showcases a variety of beach BBQ offerings, perfect for enjoying a sunset by the shore.
While the menu has evolved, classics such as the 48-hour Charred Beef Ribs, Fish Tacos, Hawaiian Huli Huli Chicken, and BBQ Pork Neck remain available. New additions to the menu include Limewood Nachos, generously layered with melted provolone, mozzarella, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, chipotle crema, jalapeños, pickled onions, salsa macha, crispy shallots, and Chipotle French Fries served with pico de gallo, taco mix, and chipotle mayo.

Flat Iron Steak expands to Sheung Wan
Flat Iron Steak is expanding to Sheung Wan. A new location will open at Dash Living on Queen’s Road Central on August 5. The restaurant will take over the location underneath Dash Living, formerly occupied by Te Quiero Mucho. The three-story venue aims to provide high-quality steak at competitive prices, catering to quick lunches and special dinners and showcasing signature steaks, shakes, and a selection of wines.
An exclusive M9 Wagyu Picanha promotion will run through August and September, featuring a unique tableside carving experience priced at $183 for 250g during lunch and $253 for 300g during dinner, accompanied by fries and salad. Side dishes like Beef Dripping Fries, Lobster Mac N Cheese, and desserts like New York Cheesecake and Chocolate Lava Cake will complement the steak offerings.

Intervals introduces Digital Guest Shift series
If you are a cocktail enthusiast travelling through Hong Kong International Airport on the 15th of any month between August 2024 and March 2025, visit Intervals for a unique series of virtual bar takeovers by renowned bartenders.
The “Cocktail Globetrotting” digital guest shift series will feature distinguished bars and their signature drinks worldwide, offering an immersive experience similar to a traditional bar visit. Each month, guests can enjoy on-site crafted cocktails and engage in live video interactions with bartenders who will share the inspirations behind their creations and travel tips for their cities.
The campaign starts on August 15 with Andrew Ho from Guangzhou’s Hope & Sesame, ranked 14th on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024. He will present the ANGO cocktail, a reinterpretation of the Trinidad Sour, featuring aged rum and flavours reminiscent of a traditional Cantonese dish. In September, Minakshi Singh from Delhi’s Sidecar, ranked 26th on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2022, will showcase Gondhoraj, an aromatic cocktail celebrating the Bengali lime, crafted with a Tanqueray base and a unique gondhoraj mix.

Mediterranean-inspired summer dishes at The Verandah
Escape the summer heat at The Verandah with its newly launched à la carte summer menu, available until the end of October. The new menu focuses on authentic Mediterranean-inspired dishes, carefully selected wines, Champagnes, and handcrafted cocktails to the backdrop of sweeping views across the South China Sea. Highlights include the Mediterranean Seafood Platter, which includes generous servings of Boston lobster, mussels, scallops, Roasted Beet Salad with bocconcini cheese and balsamic vinaigrette and Italian Vitello Tonnato antipasto with thinly sliced veal coated in a creamy tuna sauce.
Additionally, the summer menu can be enjoyed as a two—or three-course dining experience, starting at $568, featuring options for smoked or raw appetisers, main or grilled dishes, sides, and desserts.
