Vegan bubble tea to try this summer

As vegan and vegetarian diets continue to gain popularity, more bubble tea shops are introducing plant-based milk into their menus — some are even making the entire list of their offerings vegan. Grab your favourite summer beverages in one of these popular spots!

Mother Pearl

Known for its entirely vegan menu that comprises bubble teas and botanical drinks, Mother Pearl is Hong Kong’s first plant-based boba shop which can be found across Hong Kong Island. With most of its ingredients including its edible pearls and the tea base of its drinks being made in-house from scratch, the teahouse honours the modern culture originated in Taiwan by bringing it to the vegan world. Mother Pearl is also going to interest people with a not-so-sweet tooth — enjoy the elegant floral notes that layer its drinks and the authentic taste of the ingredients.

Nuttea

The self-explanatory name tells the story of Nuttea. Replacing cow milk with mylk made with nuts, the house promises a cup of good old bubble tea that is free of artificial creamer. Without compromising on the essence of the drink — the tea base — Nuttea sets its offerings upon the quality foundation of Taiwanese Ruby Black Tea from the Sun Moon Lake with a flavourful aftertaste that refreshes the next sip with mint and cinnamon.

Yi Fang

For those who are never too into bubble tea anyway but still fancy a hand-shaken beverage to remind yourself of the Treasure Island, Yi Fang is your go-to. I am guessing the international franchise needs no further introduction — who hasn’t tasted its luxurious fruit tea already? Offering the perfect beverage to fight the heat, the teahouse serves drinks that explode in flavours of tropical fruit while flaunting its rich black tea base.
