The Hoppening is back and this year it’s bigger and better than ever!
This year’s festival will feature craft beers from more than 30 breweries from around the world and entry is free.Hong Kong’s favourite craft beer festival will run from May 10 to 11 at PMQ in Central and it’s ticketless and free to enter.
This annual event is a chance for new and experienced beer drinkers to pop in and discover a range of curated beers from around the world.
This year there will be twice as many vendors as last year and attendees will be able to sample beers from more than 30 breweries from around the world, including England, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, South Korea and the USA. There will also be 11 local breweries to sample, including Yardley Brothers, Hong Kong Beer Co, Causeway Brewing and more.
Attendees will be able to browse more than 20 booths where they can meet the brewers and find out a little more about each beer.
And if you’re not a beer lover, Taboocha will be providing locally brewed Taboocha, Neon will be serving up their award winning cider and Mezzanine Makers will be pouring soft drinks and cocktails.
In need of sustenance after all that beer tasting? Food options this year have been expanded to include BBQ (Big Pink), Spanish tapas (Diverxu), pizza (Sonny’s) and Kati Rolls (Bengal Brothers).
The historic PMQ Courtyard will be transformed into The Hoppening Beer Garden, a great spot to relax with a freshly poured beer and chat with friends or listen to live music by SOL Passion Music featuring a diverse range of artists and musicians, including DJ Benny Cullen. You can also try your hand at a range of games including cornhole and jenga.
Entry to the event is free, although there is a small charge for a reusable eco aluminium cup which can be recycled or taken home as a memento afterwards. And if you need to refresh your palate or rehydrate with a splash of H2O, The Hoppening is partnering with Life Solutions to provide free water fountains.
The Hoppening is a cashless event and all on-site sales can be rung up using a credit card. Draft pours start at $75.
The Hoppening will take place on May 10 (4pm-10pm) and May 11 (1pm-10pm) at PMQ, Aberdeen Street, Central. Entry is FREE.
