Its facilities include constantly changing bouldering walls of over 100 routes, a training area with the latest climbing systems and a lounge area with shared workspace and flat-screen television. With a 6,500 square foot space and over 100 routes for rock climbing and bouldering, GoNature is a popular gym for both beginners and pros on the eastern end of Kowloon. The multicoloured playground offers a range of climbing routes and courses for all purposes, from bouldering, lead climbing to even abseiling. It lends its space not only for casual climbing sessions but also for climbing courses, birthday parties, social gatherings, cooperate trainings and many others.

One of the newest and largest climbing gyms in the city, Hong Kong Climbing Park encompasses four climbing zones and a dining area for beginners and experts. The gym welcomes climbers of all ages, with equipment specifically designed to fit children. If you’re enthusiastic but have no one to go with, Hong Kong Climbing Park also solves the problem of not having a climbing partner; asides from bouldering and traversing zones for rope-free climbing, it has six auto belays on its top rope walls which eliminates the need for a belayer.

With two locations, one on Hong Kong Island and one in Kowloon, Just Climb makes it easy for you to try your hand at bouldering any time. It has been offering climbing lessons, hosting corporate events and even designing custom climbing walls for clients for almost 10 years now. The indoor climbing gym’s 5,000 square foot space encompasses over 100 bouldering routes of eight levels of difficulty, including 90-degree vertical walls as well as 45-degree walls. Just Climb also offers iPads for you to personalise your route, so you can plan ahead and climb with confidence.

Returning bigger and better following a full renovation, The Player Climbing Gym in Mei Foo features over 10,000 square feet of space with a wide array of bouldering challenges and a 4.5-metre tall top rope climbing wall. Its main climbing area presents a series of configurations, such as the Tricky Wall, Funny Wall and Ninja Wall to test your skills; whilst its training area aims to help you target specific fitness concerns. Catering for both beginners and more experienced climbers, the gym offers a range of options for individuals, families and groups to work out and have fun together.

Verm City

This large rock climbing gym with over 18,000 square feet of wall-to-wall climbing space is conveniently located in Quarry Bay, just steps from the MTR station. Verm City offers many challenges, including bouldering, top roping, sport climbing and a fun new system called Clip N’ Climb. Both adults and children will be busy for hours clambering around its different terrains, which even includes an augmented wall system.

YMCA King’s Park Centenary Centre

For climbers who want to take it further, YMCA King’s Park Centenary Centre has the highest rock climbing wall in Hong Kong for you to scale. Measuring 18 meters high and 16 metres wide, YMCA’s climbing area offers more than 300 square meters of terrain with over 15 routes of varying degrees of difficulty. Although the park is busy on weekends, the large scale of the wall means that it can accommodate up to 30 climbers at a time. Remember to bring water – YMCA is outdoors, so best keep yourself refreshed.
