Victoria Peak Garden
Only a short 15-minute walk from the Peak Galleria awaits a lush meadow perfect for a picnic in the mountains. The Victorian-style pagodas and garden layout emanate an old school charm that you’d be hard pressed elsewhere in Hong Kong. Take a detour to enjoy a picnic in this elegant space before finishing your hike up Mount High West.
How to get there: Take the Peak Tram from Admiralty and walk to the garden following the path opposite the Peak Galleria
Cyberport Waterfront Park
This waterfront park is a dog-friendly space tucked right behind the Cyberport Arcade. Spend your lazy Sunday afternoon people-watching, playing with your pets and picnicking on this vast grassy blanket.
How to get there: Take MTR to Causeway Bay Exit D1 and take bus 69X to Cyberport
Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park
Visit Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park to find plenty of people running around, doing yoga and sunbathing. Set beside the Victoria Harbour, this memorial park keeps a statue of the esteemed Chinese revolutionary at the centre of it all. It is a great location for picnics, being so accessible for Islanders and with plenty of space to nab a comfortable spot according to your own preferences.
How to get there: MTR to Sheung Wan Exit A1. Walk to Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park via footbridge
West Kowloon Art Park
The West Kowloon Art Park is a vibrant waterfront promenade featuring open lawn spaces and knockout views over Victoria Harbour. Being a part of the bigger cultural district, the Art Park occasionally hosts live performances, so you can catch some chill tunes from the comfort of your picnic mat. There are a couple of restaurants and cafes scattered across the park, giving you the chance to fuel up on some coffee or sundowner during your visit.
How to get there: Take MTR to Kowloon Station Exit E3. Walk for approximately 10 minutes to reach the entrance of the park
Kwun Tong Promenade
The Kwun Tong Promenade is another local waterfront park with picturesque views of the Hong Kong harbour. Get together with a couple of friends and set up your picnic on the grassy area close to the boardwalk.

Jordan Valley Park
Formerly a landfill site, Jordan Valley Park has cleaned up well. It is now the largest park in Kwun Tong District with numerous outdoor facilities. Visit this green landscape for a relaxing picnic and to spend some quality time with your friends and family.
How to get there: Take MTR to Kwun Tong then take bus 23 or take MTR to Choi Hung then bus 27 or 29M to Jordan Valley Park
Tamar Park
Located conveniently in the heart of Admiralty, Tamar Park is an obvious choice for an outdoor escape without having to travel far. The park offers panoramic views of the Hong Kong skyline, so you can sit back and relax while looking out over the city’s iconic harbour. With a promenade that leads straight to Central Harbourfront, you can head on a stroll to burn off the al fresco feast you have been tucking into.
How to get there: Take MTR to Admiralty Exit A then take the escalator up and across the road to Tamar Park
Inspiration Lake
If you’re looking for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, you should put this Lantau park on your radar. The serene Inspiration Lake sits right next to Hong Kong Disneyland and is set against the backdrop of hilly terrains and a sun-dappled lake. Pack yourself some food and drinks for the day, but don’t worry about not bringing enough as there is a tuck shop on site to keep you satiated.
