Butter opens at K11 Musea
Hot off the press and out of the oven, Black Sheep Restaurants’ popular cake shop concept Butter crosses the harbour to set up its brick and mortar shop at K11 MUSEA this month. Having warmed the hearts and satisfied sweet tooths all over Hong Kong, Butter’s nostalgic, diner-inspired sweet treats find a new home on the first floor of K11 MUSEA. Nine of Butter’s most popular cakes and pies will be available by the slice seven days a week, including America’s most iconic dessert Apple Pie ($90/slice). In addition to Butter’s greatest hits, three K11 exclusives will make their debut, including the new Lil’ Checkerboard Cake ($600). Butter K11 Musea is open daily from 11am – 8pm.

Champagne Bar makes grand return
After an extended hiatus, Champagne Bar returns to Grand Hyatt this month. Champagne Bar will offer a collection of boutique champagnes and méthode champenoises from around the globe and a series of creative champagne-based cocktails designed by head mixologist Drew Chigorimbo. Champagne Bar will be open from Tuesday to Saturday 5pm until midnight. Check out the new “Champagne Spritz Hour” from 5-7pm, during which guests can choose a glass of champagne or méthode champenoise and their favourite homemade liqueur to create their own spritz for $120.

Jack Ng from Argo crowned Hong Kong’s Most Sustainable Bartender
In the much anticipated final of Flor de Caña’s Sustainable Cocktail Challenge, Jack Ng from Argo at Four Seasons Hotel was crowned as champion after competing with eight bartenders to create Hong Kong’s most spectacular sustainable cocktail. The competition took place on 16 August 2022 at the prestigious Thirsty Shaker in Hong Kong. The judging panel was composed of renowned industry personalities who evaluated the cocktails based on elements such as history and inspiration behind the cocktail, the use of sustainable ingredients and techniques and the level of creativity, in addition to its flavour and appearance. Jack received a trophy made from sustainable materials, a bartender kit, a personalised bottle of Flor de Caña 25 Year Rum, a cash prize and the opportunity to participate in the Regional Final in Thailand in October. ‘Flor de Caña’s Sustainable Cocktail Challenge is the first competition I have participated in. The recognition means a lot to me and it is one of the greatest achievements in my career. I want to give a big thank you to my teammate and management at the hotel,’ said Jack Ng from Argo at Four Seasons Hotel.
Castellana to open in Central
Popular Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, Castellana, will open in Central on 20 September. Relocating from its Causeway Bay location, Castellana pays homage to the culinary landscape and culture of Northern Italy’s Piedmont region. Helmed by Piedmont-born chef Romeo Morelli, the new two-storey space in Club Lusitano, on historic Ice House Street, will continue Castellana’s commitment to presenting Hong Kong gourmands with an impeccable Piedmontese culinary journey with refined craftsmanship. Having garnered an impressive array of international experience that belies his 29 years, Chef Romeo Morelli is an exciting new force in Asia’s dining landscape. He has a zero-waste cooking policy, and is a believer in using ingredients in their entirety to showcase their utmost potential. The new restaurant boasts a chef-centred “cucina di casa” concept on the lower floor and an expansive dining room on the upper floor. Together, the spaces create an immersive Piedmontese adventure for guests. Castellana will be open Tuesday-Sunday for lunch and dinner service.

Black Sheep Opens Team Canteen
Two years in the making, Black Sheep Restaurants has announced the official opening of its very own Team Canteen. The newly opened space is the first of its kind, a permanent central hub in SoHo dedicated entirely to its team of 1,000 strong, where team members can relax or take a break between shifts.
