60 years in the making: Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong’s year-long celebration

Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong celebrates “60 Fantastic Years” with a host of special events and initiatives throughout 2023. During Chinese New Year, the hotel unveiled ‘The Mandarin at 60 Exhibit’, a permanent historical archive located in the East Lobby and open for public viewing. 

Throughout the year, MOHK’s nine individually unique restaurants and bars, of which two boast Michelin stars, will host a calendar of culinary adventures. Highlights include special menu collaborations from visiting Michelin chefs from MOHK’s sister properties including, Alain Roux from Le Normandie (Bangkok), Deiniol Pritchard from Dinner by Heston Blumenthal (London) and Chef Fei from Jiang and The Bay, Mandarin Oriental (Shenzhen & Guangzhou). 

Guest bartenders from Asia’s 50 Best Bars will also make their debut at MOHK’s Japanese izakaya The Aubrey which is currently ranked no.38 in Asia’s 50 Best Bar Awards since its opening in 2021.

Meanwhile, guests can enjoy an exclusive two-night consecutive stay in a club room or suite with the FANtastic60 celebratory package until the end of October. Priced from $18,888 per night, the stay includes daily club benefits, F&B credit of $1,963 per person in celebration of the hotel’s birth year, a 60-minute Oriental Essence spa treatment and roundtrip airport transfers. 

MOHK also launched the ‘Giving Back to Hong Kong’ philanthropic campaign in partnership with local charities including Food Angel, Make A Wish Foundation and Help for Domestic Workers. Hotel staff have delivered almost 5,000 hours of community services since the beginning of the campaign and have pledged a further 17,000 hours (a total of 21,900 hours: 60 years x 365 days) in celebration of the upcoming 60th anniversary. MOHK will also offer 60 placements to Hong Kong students to launch their careers in the hospitality industry.
