Inside the newly-opened Regent Hong Kong

Regent Hong Kong recently unveiled its stunning transformation by world-renowned architect and design visionary Chi Wing Lo. Born in Hong Kong, Lo has spent the past 30 years living in the United States, Greece and Italy, working on architecture and design worldwide. This project marks a homecoming for the hotel and the designer as he returns to his roots.

Arrival

Perched on the edge of Victoria Harbour, Lo’s calming and rejuvenating aesthetic takes guests on a sensory escape from the crowded streets of Tsim Sha Tsui. As guests approach the hotel, the tranquil sound of a feng shui fountain draws them towards the 18 golden domes illuminating the gleaming port cochère. Regent’s iconic doormen greet guests at the majestic wooden doors, marking the transition from the fast-paced city life to the peace and tranquillity of Regent Hong Kong.

The legacy lives on

The “Spirit of Regent Retrospective” montage, on display in the lobby, pays tribute to the hotel’s rich history and art collection. This custom piece of art is crafted from works from the hotel’s original art collection. The Lobby Lounge offers iconic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong’s iconic skyline. A calming oasis and ideal meeting space, the lounge also provides an excellent spot to enjoy A Symphony of Lights show.

A soothing sanctuary

The hotel opened its room reservations late last month. Guest rooms are designed with tranquillity and rejuvenation in mind, focusing on the harbour’s breathtaking “Framed Views”. The open, spacious layout creates a world of peace. Bathrooms offer a bath experience reimagined as an art form; guests can immerse their senses in an environment that blends the perfect balance of calm and rejuvenation. In select rooms, a unique moon gate design of Nero African granite leads to a one-of-a-kind bath and shower experience.

Whilst the hotel transformation is still in progress and construction work is ongoing in various areas of the hotel, now is an excellent opportunity to be one of the first to experience the iconic hotel reimagined for years to come.
