Hong Kong’s best ice skating rinks
Skate your way into 2022As cold as Hong Kong gets during winter, it’s still never chilly enough for any lakes to freeze over to form skating rinks. Not to worry though because some of Hong Kong’s best shopping malls are home to some amazing ice skating rinks for you to live out your winter wonderland dreams.
The Rink, Elements
Located right outside the exit of Kowloon station, Elements mall is home to one of the most popular ice skating rinks in Hong Kong. This ice skating rink is the first to integrate the ‘pay as you skate’ concept. This concept uses the automated Octopus system, meaning you pay by the minute. The average price for skating would be $1.5 per minute and an extra $20 for skates. When entering the rink, all the visitors need to do is scan their octopus, walk up to the friendly staff to get their skates, and then skate away! The Rink also offers animal-shaped handrail rentals for beginners and small children. After your skate, hop on over to one of the many restaurants Elements has to offer to regain some energy for another round!
