The Best Autumn Afternoon Teas in Hong Kong 2023
A Classic British Afternoon Tea at Palm Court
Did you know that afternoon Tea was first thought up by Lady Bedford, one of Queen Victoria’s ladies in waiting and it soon became fashionable in high society. But it was The Langham, London who popularised this tradition by being the first hotel to feature this new meal on its menu when it opened in 1865.
Fresh from his recent exchange to The Langham, London, Pastry Chef Tin of The Langham Hong Kong has launched A Classic British Afternoon Tea at Palm Court. The new menu features a classically British menu of elegant finger sandwiches such as Roast Beef with Mustard and Pickles, Smoked Salmon and Egg with Cucumber followed by Freshly Baked Plain and Raisin Scones served warm with clotted cream and Rose Petal and European Sour Cherry jam, as well as Chocolate Biscuit Cake and Victoria Sponge Cake.
Available daily throughout October and priced from $398 for one and $698 for two. A deluxe version includes unlimited Saicho Sparkling tea, or a glass of Taittinger Champagne each for $898 for two.
