Comodo Design blends natural aesthetics into a modern home
The interior design studio finds the perfect harmony of nature and contemporary designIn collaboration with Comodo Design
Founded in 2009, Comodo Design has over 11 years of experience working in the fields of residential, commercial interior and furniture design. Since its inception, it has brought to its clients a contemporary interior style integrated with unique artistry and functionality.
The family at Mount Pavilia is a repeat client of Comodo Design. The last time the firm designed for the family was eight years ago for their home in Bel-Air Residence. Moving from the oceanic southern district to Sai Kung district, the new family home aims to rebuild connection to nature and lessen the pressure of busy life.
The project in Mount Pavilia was completed in July 2020. The scope of work includes redesigning the living, dining, master bedroom, two children bedroom, study, multifunctional room and garden of a 1,700 square foot unit.
Compared with the simple and light grey scheme of the clients’ old apartment, there is undoubtedly a sense of warmth to the unit in Mount Pavilia. The light colours and natural materials used in the design echo with natural light and tighten the connection with outdoor nature, without a sense of oppression while highlighting the function of each area.
The unit, surrounded by lush greenery, uses a lot of wood and earth tones to blend with natural daylight and greenery, re-injecting outdoor comfort and vitality into the indoor, creating an immersive warm and comfortable temperament. Featuring a sophisticated ceiling panelling, the modern luxe design has a sense of visual completeness to it.
The living and dining rooms are decorated with light wood panels and light grey texture wallpaper with bronze steel, bringing a focal design to the space. Key furniture pieces include the dark green sofas and marble coffee tables, which contain a variety of rich materials executed in simplicity. Likewise, the master room and the study room are also dominated by light grey and light wood colours, with rounded corners, and the wooden strip design further echoes the overall design consistency.
With its functionality and unique aesthetic, the project has been shortlisted for The 28th Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards 2020. It is a home that is, in short, perfect for family-living for generations to come.
