A candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB), CAIS offers the Alberta curriculum – one of the best learning systems in the world – and prides itself in providing a unique transformative educational experience for children aged from 5 to 17 at its preparatory, lower and upper primary and secondary sections.

CAIS is led by Richard Vanderpyl, who joined the school in 2019 after a 17-year stint at a Christian school in New Zealand. Vanderpyl is championing the vision of the school with a diverse faculty, empowering students to make a positive impact on society for the benefit of others through Christian education.

Teacher-student ratio

The teacher-student ratio at CAIS is among the lowest amongst international schools in Hong Kong. Smaller class sizes bring about a slew of benefits – teachers who have fewer students are able to provide each student with more individual attention, students feel more comfortable participating in discussions and have an easier time expressing themselves, and students often learn at a faster pace with great academic results to show.

Alberta Curriculum

The curriculum is globally recognised as one of the best learning systems in the world, with students consistently placing in the top tier of international rankings. It focuses on a broad liberal arts education with opportunities for excellence in the arts, athletics, leadership and community service. Most importantly, the system also emphasises conceptual understanding and skill development, which can be transferred across multiple domains.

Campus expansion

With its new campus building set to open doors to serve more aspiring students, CAIS is determined to fit in and stand out in the international school scene in Hong Kong, as reflected in its mission statement “to cultivate learners with knowledge, skills, integrity and discernment, growing in love for God and service to humanity”.
